Resetting embedded ap in 1941w router - how to?

Hi,

I have a 1941W router with the embedded ap, purchased second-hand.

The router part of it is working fine, but I can't access the embedded ap - there is a user and password set and I obviously don't know this.

I have tried with the default that I have found of cisco/cisco but that does not work.

I've tired resetting the ap to default with -

service-module wlan-ap 0 reset and

service-module wlan-ap 0 reset default-config

but neither seem to wipe out the config....

I can (I believe) get to the rommon equivalent by using the command:

service-module wlan-ap0 reset bootloader

but I'm not sure how to proceed from there.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Bill

Please can you advise on break proceedure? It won't take notice of alt-b during boot...

Cheers!

Hello,

press the 'ESC' key during boot, that should break the boot sequence.

break key should give you right direction. (what client you using putty or Secure CRT ?)

Hi, I have successfully executed the 'service-module wlan-ap 0 reset bootloader' command and I''m at the ap: prompt (which I think is the equivalent of the rommon router prompt).

How do I now reset the AP configuration and the passwords to the default please??

Cheers, Bill

OK, I am *finally* into the Access Point!

I used 'service-module wlan-ap0 reset bootloader'

This got me to the ap: prompt

I then did flash_init and reset and could login to the ap with User Cisco and PW Cisco (and enable Cisco).

Cheers all...

Maybe my mistake all along was using user/pw as cisco and NOT Cisco ...
