Hello,
I have a 1760 Router and whenever i checked the router CPU seems to be very high.
When there is no traffic on that router, the CPU usage is litterly zero and that means some traffic that is doing this.
When i issue a show proc cpu i get like this
--------
#sh proc cpu
CPU utilization for five seconds: 66%/49%; one minute: 65%; five minutes: 66%
--------------
when i scroll down the entire table, i can see only the IP input as high
35 3461314 3482212 993 14.30% 12.75% 12.93% 0 IP Input
So wondering how come i can get 70% CPU usage since rest of them shows either zero or .001 % like .
Confused where this CPU usage shoots.
Infact i have route maps on that, but i dont see them taking that much process. Also i use route cache flow to check my traffic and i dont see any traffic causing such a high usage. All i can see is the IP input.
Is there a way where i can find which is causing this high usage or ????

HI, [Pls Rate if HELPS]
For troubleshooting High CPU utilization problem:
Check the show output of below cmds:
show processes cpu Command
show interfaces Command
show interfaces switching Command
show interfaces stat Command
show ip nat translations
show align Command
show version Command
show log Command
Based on the Output you can easily locate the problem.

See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1828/products_tech_note09186a00800a65d0.shtml for an explanation of the show proc cpu command.
Addition of all the process CPU loads would be about the difference between the total five second load and the interrupt load. For instance, in your example you have 66%/49%, a difference of 17%.
See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps133/products_tech_note09186a00800a70f2.shtml for troubleshooting high CPU.
