Dear Friends,

I have 2 wan location with 1700 series Router-A and Router-B conencted with Serial connectivity.

The LAN Network at Router-A and at Router-B is in same subnet. Eg 150.10.0.0/16 at end A and 150.10.0.0/16 at end B.Now since both side lan subnets how can i do the static routing over serial wan.

If i configure our router as bridge, will it will solve my problem and what will be the configuration

Waiting for your reply

Revi,

YOu can do this using bridging, but its not recommended to do so, because a lot of broadcast traffic on either sides of the lan will be bridged to the wan links consuming a lot of bandwidth.

if you still want to use bridging,

bridge 1 protocol ieee

int s0

bridge-group 1

int e0

bridge-group 1

On either routers, should do the job.

The right way to do this is to use NAT.

Hi,

Please try "Frame Relay Switching" to avoid unnecessary broadcasts.

Hi Ravi,

Please confirm if you can do subnetting for this IP subnet 150.10.0.0/16.I am not able to understand using same IP subnets at both side of WAN.

Regards
