Routing over a primary and backup vpn

If you have a router that connects to a business partner over a dedicated (private) circuit and are bringing up a new site-to-site VPN to eventually get rid of the private circuit (eliminate cost) but have multiple static/redistributed routes say 2 - /24's going to the business partner over the dedicated ciruit but now combined into a /23 over the new VPN tunnel, can you setup the routing so you can test the tunnel without having to remove the /24 (more specific) routes in bringing down the primary circuit/connectivity?

Thanks

Hello,

If possible configure GRE/IPSEC tunnel and run EIGRP. EIGRP neighbor relationship is formed between two tunnel peers.

Once you have EIGRP you can check if all subnets are learned via this EIGRP.

show eigrp topology all links

If routes are available in the topology table you can assume that those will aprear in the routing table when the better route is unavailable.
