Routing Problems

Hello, I'am Carlos, I'am from Venezuela and my english is not very good, but i need your help. The problem is that i have a cisco WS-C6506 with this configuration:

interface Vlan1

ip address 161.196.136.129 255.255.255.128 secondary

ip address 161.196.73.1 255.255.255.128 secondary

ip address 161.196.204.1 255.255.252.0

ip access-group acl-Proteccion-Voz-IP out

ip helper-address 161.196.64.40

no ip redirects

no ip unreachables

ip nbar protocol-discovery

ip route-cache flow

i have a tacacs server (161.196.17.19), but only i can do ping with a ping ext with ip source 161.196.73.1. My ask is, how i can do to ping to the tacacs server without extended ping

If you do a standard ping it will default to use the primary interface IP as the source address. If extended ping specifying the source as 161.196.73.1 does work then it demonstrates that you have a route to the server and that the server has a route to 161.196.73.0. If a standard ping does not work, while you still have a route to the server it indicates that the server does not have a route to your primary IP address. I suggest that you check the server and whatever routers are in the path from the server to your 6506 and find which one(s) does not have a route to your address.

Does the network run a dynamic routing protocol or is it set up with static routes?
