Hi,
I have a requirement for one of our services to be offered that Serial and Ethernet Interface should be included under a Single BVI. Essentially this is required to monitor the network as customer does not allow us to touch the CE. In the attached diagram this is facilitated using a 2821 router(iDevice) along with Cisco 3845 and Cisco 1841.I was keen to know whether the concept of IRB would work in case of Serial Interface and it the answer is yes, it would be of great help to have the configuration. If needed i can upload the configuration files.

Hoogen,
Many thanks. While its defnitely understandable that it enables the bridging between two Ethernet Interfaces, what am keen is to have the serial also included into the same bridging group so that the BVI / Routing Interface does not act as an IP HoP. Please suggest ..
