Setup 3G for router 810 series

Hello,

I have a router 819 with 3G built-in. Are there any manual for how to setup the interface celluar 0 for this router out there? I have Verizon as my 3G provider. Thanks.

I think this is sufficent to configure a celluer interface.

Hi,

My experience with the 819 documentation was that it was copied from another 3G spec and not actually confirmed to work. e.g PPP encapsulation wasn't actually supported on my modem in the 819 despite it being in the documentation, so SLIP had to be used.

Which 3G modem have you specced as the configuration will be different for the modem AT commands? Is it the 3.5/3.75g HSPA+ modem or the 3G HSPA one?

Hi Jamie,

I don't know the command line for the 3G modem on router 819 but I ran 'sh version' and my router says the part is

C819HG-V-K9 and according to this link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps10906/ps380/qa_c67-678460.html it says 'Compact Hardened 3G IOS Router with VERIZON EVDO Rev A' for the part # C819HG-V-K9.

The 3G (CDWA from Versizon) now is active, is there any ideas how to setup my router to get to the internet?

Oh OK - that's not the HSPA+ modem, so I believe Sandeep's link to the configuration guide should work for you.
