We have multiple locations connected through dmvpn,some sites have 192.x.x.x in lan segment and remaining sites have 10.x.x.x in lan segments.Though the isp bandwidth is good ,file transferring between servers in 192.x.x.x and 10.x.x.x is slow. transfer between 10.x.x.x segments is good.Files are located in the location's local server.
The setup in the location having 192.x.x.x segment is like this modem->router (having loopback in 10.x.x.x segment)->switch having 192.x.x.x segment(layer 2)
while in other sites having 10.x.x.x segment ,the L3 stuff is taken care by the switches behind the router.
Modem->router (having loopback in 10.x.x.x segment)->switch(L3)
