STATIC NAT / DNS Issue

nofori111

Level 1

I have two DNS Servers, one on the inside network 192.168.60.22 and the other on the outside 10.140156.12.

I have performed a one to one static NAT were

192.168.60.22 (Real IP)========= 10.132.154.22(NATTED IP)

10.140.156.12(Real IP)=========10.162.180.12(NATTED IP)

Users from the Inside are able to querry the dns on the outside using the nat ip 10.162.180.12 and it works perfectly.

But users on the outside are not able to do a querry to my DNS Server on the inside which is nat ip 10.132.154.22.

Any idea why it is not working.

ip nat inside source static 192.168.50.21 10.132.154.22
ip nat inside source static 192.168.50.22 10.132.154.23

ip nat outside source static 10.140.154.12 10.162.180.12

Look at the Traffic Flow rather you have NAT Rule, So you coming from outside to inside, and you going inside to out side.

so you need to consider that config in place.
