Hi

For the same route(ie,with matching subnets) if u have both static and ospf, then static will be prefer as that have the lower AD than ospf, and when the static route gets down,(normaly if u remove it or the nexthop specified in static goes down)then ospf will take care of the route..

hope this is what u are looking for..

arun

is OSPF automatically take care or we have to remove the sttic entries.

btw how to switch for upload traffic for specific ether block through sttic and ospf

Hi,

The static entry is prefered over ospf as said earlier.ospf will take over only if the AD of static entry is made higher than ospf or the next hop of static entry is down or u remove the static entry...

I didnt got what u mean in second part!!!!!!pls can u be little more specific..

arun

try to configure higher AD for static route

"ip route x.x.x.x x.x.x.x 150"

It will increase AD of static route and use OSPF (AD = 110)
