Hi guys,
I'm looking at moving away from some Cisco 7201s to a few 6503s with either Sup 720-3CXL, or the 2T-XL. I'd keep the 7201s and use them as route reflectors by the way. My question is, with the Sup engines at max memory, how many full BGP feeds can I expect to have on a single chassis? I've noticed the 7201 has a ton of extra memory with just one feed, so it seems like it could handle 2 or 3 full feeds, least that's the way it looks when I check the FIB/RIB on them.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is there a different recommendation? I know some of the higher end ASRs, but they're out of budget. I am a bit confused since the routing table is supposed to be like 500k+ routes, but I don't show that many from my current feeds, and there looks to be plenty more ram free. I don't want to really do any filtering either to band-aid the router.
Thanks!
