SUP720 dead console port

We have had the console port on several SUP720-3B cards die over the last couple of years.  Some additional testing shows that receive still works but they don't seem to be able to transmit from the console port.  Back when they were still supported, Cisco's solution was to swap the card.  Has anybody run into this, or have any suggestions, short of obtaining a replacement SUP card?

have you tried to reseat the card and check the LEDs ? Usually there should be something indicating the broken console...

That said, the SUP720-3B is EoL and I think quite old. Short of trying to replace the console port yourself, I don't see any other way to fix this than replacing the card...
