Three Routers Three Switches. I am a newbie

Hello All,

I have got Three Cisco Routers and Three Cisco Switches

One router is 2901 gigabit

Two routers are 1921 gigabit

All three switches are Cisco 3650 Catalyst version 2series

all int on routers have been alloted with Ip addresses. Let's just stick with Routers connectivity at the moment

Since there are IP addresses on routers int. Router one can ping all its on int but there is no connectivity on between routers at all. Routers are connected to eachother with crossover cables with ethernet port g0/0 and g0/1. i can see connected routers by CDP command. I tried to run RIP on all routers but there is absolutely no adjacencies between routers. Matter of fact when i do "show ip route" i don't see RIP being enabled on any router (SAD RIGHT)? Can somebody help me with this

My first router IP int

G0/0 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0

G0/1 10.10.20.1 255.255.255.0

Router 2

G0/0 10.10.30.1

G0/1 10.10.40.1

Router 3

G0/0 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0

G0/1 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

(Am I doing something wrong with addressing)?

I would appreciate if someone can help me with this.

Make sure you connected point to point interface (where you mentioned cross cable ) to be in the same subnet for reachability for the RIP to establish the relation.

as per your example :

router 1----G0/0 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0-----G0/0 10.10.10.2 255.255.255.0 ( Router2)

look at simple guide and example :

Hi,
connection between router must be on the same subnet.

R1-G0/0 <-10.10.10.1 connect to 10.10.10.2->G0/0-R2-G0/1<-10.10.20.1 connect to 10.10.20.2->G0/1-R3-G0/0<-10.10.30.1 connect to 10.10.30.2->G0/1-R1

you can keep networks /24 (255.255.255.0)

Thank you so much you and Balaji, now the real deal lol

i have 3 switches as per my original post and i wanna use 3 of them. Since Router 1 won't have enough ports left to deploy one switch there how can i be using 3 routers using 3 switches?

what exactly you trying to do ? is this Lab? or learning?

all routers have been configured. RIP is enabled and working on them. Thank you

instead of using console port how to configure multiple sessions on superputty so that i can work around on all routers and switches in one window.

good luck in labing and journey to your CCNA certification
