traceroute and response from cisco router/pix

hi

I have two questions/problems.

- I have BGP configured with same ISP on two border router. When tracert packets comes to one of it, sometime the packet shows back and forth (once) with bgp peering router.

- some time it shows packets toggle between border router and target host.

- the hop to my end host indentifies as some isp device name.

I guess, there could be some interface config command that is influencing the way it responds to tracert. I understand that my PIX sends proxy resond to my inside host IP and i am ok with that.

my router is 3825 and IOS is 12.4(5)

Please give your comments, suggestions and any useful links.

regards

rakesh

BGP neighbor relationship fails to come up across a GRE tunnel. GRE tunnel is across an IPSec tunnel that terminates on the PIX

router at each site. We can ping from to the Tunnel6 destination. This along with customer's confirmation that packets are encapsulating and decapsulating on both PIXs indicate the issue is with the BGP session across the GRE tunnel. The session toggle between Active, Idle and Connect states.
