traffic load sharing

There are two Cisco Routers in a Remote Branch & Border Gateway Protocol is running on both the Router & their inside interfaces are connected to a LAN Layer 3 switch enabled with Hot Standby Router Protocol.

both the Router's outside interfaces are connected to data center over Multi-protocol Label switching cloud.

How to divide 50 percent traffic on first & another  50 percent traffic on second Router without disturbing Hot Standby Router Protocol.

Re: traffic load sharing

Hello Ravi,

it is not clear if HSRP is running on the internal multilayer switch or on the border routers on their inside interface.

In any case if you what to perform load sharing the L3 switch needs to have the same routes from both border routers.

Example:

with static routes let us supposte that network 10.20.0.0/16 is your datacenter.

Let us suppose the border routers inside network is 192.168.5.0/24 and 192.168.5.4 192.18.5.5 are their respective border routers.

ip route 10.20.0.0 255.255.0.0 192.168.5.4

ip route 10.20.0.0 255.255.0.0 192.168.5.5

Hope to help

Giuseppe
