Hi
I have the requirement to mark traffic sourced from 4 IP addresses destination ANY as AF1 before it is transmitted acorss the MPLS network - this is at the host site on the network. Easily done using an ACL on the host router
My query is around the reverse path, there are a large number of sites that will use these servers - assuming the remote site LAN's are all configured accordingly to trust and MPLS is all ok - is the ToS value going to be retained on the reverse path, or am I looking at it putting
access-lists
on all the remote sites using 4 IP's as a destination
Have had mixed replies - some saying it will retain, some say it won't, some think application dependant
Thanks

It's application dependent. I.e. you may (likely) need marking ACLs on the far side too.
