Traffic Shaping on 3750E Help

Hey Guys,

I have a location that has a 3750E facing the provider. The Provider is policing the traffic on their end to 900Meg. Recently the business introduced new service and we are pumping way more traffic over the link facing the provider.

I am thinking of traffic shaping the traffic on the 3750E however the platform has limitations when it comes to this huge traffic..

What is the best solution in this case to limit the egress traffic on this platform? it is a (24-port 3750E) switch running IOS version (15.0(2)SE6).

Traffic path is:

LAN--->3750E(1Gig interface)--->Provider Switch (capping to 900Meg).

Thoughts?

Try:

srr-queue bandwidth limit weight1

On egress gig port.  Start with 90 for weight1, but as this command isn't exact, you may need to reduce to insure you don't exceed 900 Mbps.

What is the impact of this command on any traffic that exceeds the 900Meg while existing the interface on the switch?
