Two same IOS image files in bootdisk:

Guys, need your help understanding 

1. I noticed 2 same IOS image files in the bootflash: for a 6509E sup2t, below is the output!

There is no change in the IOS image name and also, when I check the dir bootdisk: #6 doesnt showup!

I am going to upgrade this device and would like to delete the SY3 and one of the SY7 image from the bootdisk:, please suggest me how to do that! thanks in advance..

Before you start make sure you check the MD5 hash value of the file against the MD5 hash value of the file found in the Cisco website. 

If they are a match, then the next step is to change the boot variable string with the new one on top and the old IOS file immediately below it.  Save the config and then reboot.

that helps, but i am unable to understand if there can be 2 files with same name 

 s2t54-adventerprisek9-mz.SPA.151-2.SY7.bin

the above image file is showing up twice in bootdisk: 

if I use the below command, which file will get deleted?? Thanks again for your prompt response

delete bootdisk:s2t54-adventerprisek9-mz.SPA.151-2.SY7.bin

The file comes up twice if the command "sh bootdisk:" is issued but the correct output is displayed with the command "dir bootdisk:".  I suspect this is a bug. 

if I use the below command, which file will get deleted?? 

The command will delete SY7 file.
