My provider does not support Multilink PPP so LFI is not an option.

Is setting the tx-ring limit to 1 ok? I plan to use LLQ but wanted to do as much as possible to minimise delay.

Thanks

Please refer to the following document and search for qos within the document:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/ps6200/prod_qas0900aecd8028a982.html

The 870 series supports advanced qos features. The document above has many references to qos support I would recommend reviewing. You do not need to modify the transmit ring. This will be modified to a value of 2 when you enable qos and attach a service policy to an interface.
