Unable to make cisco 4300 Series router test Gig bandwidth from ISP

C K

Level 1

Hi All,

I tried setting cisco 4300 router on a Gig line from ISP and then LAN ports are set to Gig but i am getting 90 Mbs top speed.

If i run test from the ISP router on my laptop with the same Public IPs i am getting 900Mbps + speeds and if i apply the same IPs to g0/0/0 port of 4300 router and then connect my Gig switch 2960 to G 0/0/1 (LAN) and run speed test i am get 90Mbps. I tried connecting my laptop directly to the router and i am still hardly getting100Mbps.

Router is configured with all standard configuration.

IP interface Gig 0/0/0 (Wan) Public IP

IP NAT outside

IP interface Gig 0/0/1 (LAN) Private IP

Ip NAT inside

Ip Dhcp excluded-address [Block of IP]

IP DHCP pool LAN

Network [LAN addres]

default-router [LAN gateway]

DNS server 8.8.8.8

access-list 1 permit [LAN] 0.0.0.255

IP NAT inside source list 1 interface Gig 0/0/0

IP route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (WAN gateway)

These are the only commands that were configured.

Could you please let me know if i am missing any command to allow Gig traffic .

Thanks

Kind Regards

C

ASR 4K depends on license you bought it is caped for that capacity.

If you looking WAN Through put you read me last email how can you and limitation and i have suggested models for higher throughput.

Since we are not sure what is the device role how your network, so too mature to suggest here L3 Switch or another device here.

How do i change it to Gig in that case. Sorry i am new to Cisco.
Thanks

or you can buy a boost license.

Enable temporary throughput license on the router. It will be available for next 60 days. Don’t forget to save your configuration and reload the chassis to take effect.

ISR(config)#platform hardware throughput level 300000

Note : 4331  max support 300MB.

you need 4431 or  4451 for 1GB / 2GB.

Sorry i am confused, as both the ports (G0/0/0 and G0/0/1 if connect to my laptop shows Gig connectivity in Windows Ethernet card properties? But still I am getting 90Mbs on internet. Are you saying this is controlled by a license?
Will the fiber port not help if i get a fiber cable from the ISP router and connect it to my 4300?
Thanks
