Upgrade Question

I have recently bought five 2960's.

I pulled them out of the box, consoled into them (no passwords are present) and set the IP address.

I Web GUI'ed them, tested the ports, and upgraded to the latest IOS from (37) to (55).

When I access the Web GUI now it asks for a level 15 password. (It did not do this until the upgrade)

. I tried all variations of 'cisco' for the user and password to no avail. How can I clear this login prompt from the GUI. All five do this.

UPDATE:

I factory reset all five, reconfig'ed IP and connected via GUI.  It still prompts me for a level 15 password from the WEB gui. What gives?

I am not real familiar with those switches. But my guess is that the GUI for those switches has a default behavior for authentication that is different from authentication on the console port. I am guessing that if you try to console to the switches you would be able to get into the CLI of the switches. If you get to the CLI and can get to privilege mode then you could configure a user ID and specify level 15 for it. This might then allow you to login to the GUI.

Yes, that solved the problem, BUT Cisco threw me a curveball. I

flashed the prior version of the IOS 12.xxx.(37) back on two of the switches, and the problem disappeared. I guess the IOS (55) release is buggy, since it showed the same problem on all five switches. I do not want to be forced to enter authentication for the web gui. I will have to reload the prior version of the IOS. I am hoping this problem will be fixed.

Thanks,
