What are the prerequisites before doing this? I have to upgrade a router this week if there is an opportunity to move it to a code that is more current that the one the client is currently running which is 12.2(33)SRD4. I see on the Cisco Support site that after this code, everything moves to 15.
If someone could publish what I would need to do to the router in order to move it to 15 it would be appreciated.
Thank You.

The process is the same as upgrading within 12.2SRD code.
With that said, I suggest reviewing the Release Notes for behavior changes with the new code:

Hi Chen,
You need to make sure couple of things before upgrading,
1. The new code planned does not have any Sev1/ sev2 bugs associated with it.
Cisco bug toolkit can help you in it
2. All your Line cards and duaghter cards are compatible.
Check the release notes or data sheet of the IOS release you are planning to upgrade to
3. Follow the below steps if you are running a redundant Processor
a. Copy the new IOS to both (active/standby) the SUP/RSP flash disk
b. Modify the boot statement as per the following logic,
Remove any existing boot statement
Add a new statement pointing to the new IOS
Add a second statement pointing to the old IOS
Save the config which will syn the config to the standby sup/rsp as well
4. Reload the standby sup/rsp
5. Do a redundancy force switchover so that the standby sup/rsp with the new ios become active one
6. Now reload the current standby sup/rsp so that it comes up with the new IOS
7. Do a redundancy force switch over to make the sup/rsp have their original roles
