Upgrading IOS for Cisco 1001-x

Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade the IOS for Cisco 1001-x from 03.x to Everest 16.6.4 and I believe I need to upgrade the ROMMON version as well, but however I don't see ROMMON software available for 16.6 as it has to be the same IOS if I am upgrading to Everest 16.6.4, so in that case I can update to only Denali 16.3.6 as I can see ROMMON version 16.3 for Denali?

Or can I upgrade to Everest 16.6.4 with ROMMON software 16.3?

Could somebody please advise?

This is CSCvg89038.  

Downgrade to any version of the 3.X.X and then upgrade to 16.X.X.

Hi Leo,

The router is currently on 3.12 and trying to upgrade to 16.6.4

asr1001x-universalk9.03.12.00a.S.154-2.S0a-std.SPA.bin

What I am suspecting is once I upgraded the ROMMON, I didn't reload the router. I have configured the boot commands as well for the IOS and then reloaded once rather than reloading after ROMMON upgrade and IOS upgrade.

Do you think that might be the issue?

Nuts.  I misread the text file.  My apologies.  

If this is the case, I believe my initial bug is incorrect.  I believe it should be CSCur94666.  

Please post the complete output to the command "sh platform".  

You may need to upgrade first to 3.16.X and then jump from there.  

(To be honest, I've never seen a behaviour like this before.)

The ROMmon didn't upgrade.
Could you upgrade the ROMmon first and try again?
