Hi all,
i have a network with pim sparse-dense-mode and rp is configured statically with an access-list combination for some groups rest all multicast is using dense.
For some testing i configured another device as rp for all applications which immediately over ride the old rp and the new became rp for all groups.i removed the latest config but still after clearing mroute table and clearing ospf the said device along with all other devices show the new rp as the final rp.
is there any way to clear this
plz respond.

Hello,
Thank you. Have you tried using the clear ip pim rp-mapping command? After entering it, would you be so kind to check the
show ip pim rp
show ip pim rp mapping
commands to see if the deleted RP still remains in the mapping cache?
Best regards,
Peter

Hello,
Did you configure the new RP statically using the ip pim rp-address or was it discovered automatically using AutoRP or BSR?
Best regards,
Peter

Thanks Peter,
clear ip pim rp-mapping and clear ip mrout * worked but the problem was that i have to manually clear these entries on all layer three devices in my multicast domain. It was really hard time for me as badly hanged all our multicast applications.
Best Regards.
