Dear sir,

Network connectivity for viedeo survailance is as fallows:---

The network is based on cisco 2960G -24 port switch. Two numbers of IP cemeras and Viedeo capture server are connected on individual ports of the switch. Two numbers of contrl work stations are connected on two ports of the switch for monitoring/viewing the streamed viedeo from the server of each camera.Viedeo capture server receives the data from the individual ip cameras for streaming purpouse.

what is the right configuration for the 2960G switch to get the individual cameras streamed viedeo on each of the control work stations. How to limit the stream bandwidth for each camera to 4MBPS.Is configuring seperate vlans for each camera data is the right solution. If it is so what is that configuration for that vlans. We are facing a problem in getting the individual camera streamed output on to the control stations. Are we getting the problem because the switch is LAYER-2.Is LAYER-3 switch is the right solution and what is the configuration requirements for layer 3 switch.

Plz help me:)

Thanks&Regards

srini

What the problem is exactly?

What does not work?

You do not need a layer 3 switch, neither you need to limit BW.
