Hi Guys,
I'm still new in Cisco and I have an inquiry regarding our router config. Why is it that the serial interface connected to IPVPN modem is configured as virtual? For example we are using this config "serial interface 0/0.20". What is the purpose for this kind of setup? Can somebody help me?
Thanks.
John

It is a subinterface. Without seeing your config, it's hard to tell. If it is frame-relay, different PVC's can be assigned to different DLCI's.

Thanks for the reply amagruder. Yes it is a frame relay connection.
