Hi Experts,
I am trying to get the virtual link running but couldn't find any obvious reason. Is there anything I am missing here.
Kindly help.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,
could you post your topology diagram.
Did you specify the router-ids in your virtual-link ? ----> sh ip ospf border-routers

The problem is that an OSPF virtual link should connect Area Border Routers. But R9 is not an ABR but is just a member of area 4. If R9 had an active interface in area 0 then the virtual link would be possible but with all interfaces in area 4 it is not possible to have virtual link work.

Hi Richard/Alain,
Thank you, I realised just after posting that I was creating VL between worng routers.
Yes, I was configuring the virtual link on R8 and on R9 which was wrong. Thanks for pointing it out Richard. Alain, please find the network diagram.
Its resolved.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,
in that case can you give credit for Richard answer and mark the thread as resolved.
