Sunil_06

Hi Team,

i have topology of three routers (R1----->R2------>R3)

R1 and R3 are acting as PE device while R2 is RR.

Please confirm whether below behavior is normal or not.

R1 is receiving prefix 1.1.1.128/25 from R3 with RD of 1234:11 and VPN Label 24083.

but when i'm checking label at R3 router , it is showing inactive and its mapped to another prefix in different VRF (1234:12)

there are two Label in VPNv4
upper is for the BGP peer IP  24083 (R1-R2-R3 use upper label to forward traffic from R1 to R3)
lower is for VPN  24192

Hi @Sunil_06 ,

The "show bgp label" command will display the BGP received labels.

You need to do a "show mpls for labels 24083" on R3 to check that the label is properly installed in the local LFIB.

Hi @Sunil_06 ,

The local label is the label that is locally allocated for the VRF prefix and it should be the label advertised via BGP vpnv4. Interestingly enough, it does match in your case. I would recommend running the command "clear bgp vpnv4 uni * soft in" on R1 and check to see if it solves the discrepancy that is seen between the label on R1 and R3 for 1.1.1.128/25.
