Hi,
I read vtp authentication is supported on vtp version3 only. But when I have version2 configured on all switches and if there is a password mismatch, why the updates are not getting propagated? Version2 should ignore the password, right?
Thanks,
Balajee

That's totally wrong. VTP authentication exists since VTP v1.

You need to check the MD5 digest output from show vtp status command. Even if you have the same vtp password in all of your switches but if the md5 digest hash is different then it would still not update vlan database.
You might need to remove and reapply vtp password, bounce trunk ports, or restart the switch.

VTP Password is supported on all the version.
Further more basic things to add:
1) Check the port and make sure it is trunk (show int trunk--- and see if the port is allowing the vlan and its not pruned)
2) Show vtp status(check the name,revision num)
3- Check the MD5 has value.
