WAP4410n ap and wireless repeater no internet access

Hi all,

I've got a question from a friend who has 2 WAP4410n in his network.
Since quite some time, he can only access his wireless network with a cellphone but no more with his laptop.
I took a quick look and the reason was simple. WEP security, which does not work with Windows 10.

The default password was changed and my friend doesn’t knew it. So reset was the only option.
I configured at my best, using the guide from CISCO, changed the Encryption to WPA2 personal and since that moment, no internet access is possible over the repeater.

Situation:

Router (192.168.1.1)---wired to--->WAP4410n 1 (192.168.1.11)---wireless to-->WAP4410n 2 (192.168.1.12)

Wap 1 is setup as AP and configured so that wireless signal is allow to be repeated by mac address of WAP 2.
Wap 2 is setup as Wireless WDS repeater, with site survey mac address of WAP 1.

Both have the same SSID.
Both static IP, both have same subnet and same gateway.
WPA2 personal encryption.

I can ping both without any error.

As soon as the SSID shows up in a device, there is the mark that there is no access to internet.

What have I done wrong and how to undo the error.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

try and configure WAP2 as Wireless Client/Repeater instead of as WPS Bridge (page 43 of the attached admin guide):

Hello,

try and configure WAP2 as Wireless Client/Repeater instead of as WPS Bridge (page 43 of the attached admin guide):

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/csbap/wap4410n/administration/guide/WAP4410N_Admin_Guide.pdf

I mistyped and already corrected it.
It was configured as repeater.

What I did noticed, after taking the two WAP4410n's to my place and fiddle around with them, that when I configure all the same as above stated, but switched the 2 devices from function, it works.
Speed is not that fast as using only a AP (between 150 and 200Mbits when alone vs max 59Mbits with  the wireless repeater).
But how come that one device doesn't want to do what is configured and when configuration is switched, all of a sudden, things work.

I'm gonna keep this setup like the configuration a mentioned and use it a few day's at my home.
Just to make sure that things are stable.

I also read many different things about the firmware for this devices. Some good and most less good.
Many of them describe issues due mis-configuration and encryption.

Hello,

try a different channel and/or band to increase the speed...(obviously) make sure that whatever you configure matches on all devices.
