1) use different CF with the same result
2) use few IOS c3845-ipbase-mz.124-18.bin, c3845-ipvoicek9-mz.124-17.bin,
c3845-ipvoicek9-mz.124-22.T.bin, c3845-spservicesk9-mz.124-13c.bin with the same result
3) tried to boot IOS from rommon mode with exactly the same after-effect
4) checked if cookie is okay. Unfortunately i cannot say that the whole cookie is okay, but beginning octets are not FF's.

Broken faulty router, that Cisco will replace if under support contract.

if you are complaining about your 3845 rebooting all the time, why are you trying to load a 3825 ios? Get the correct ios and try again.
It's got nothing to do with the IOS. If you look at the bootup process after the router passes the bootstrap the router crashes. It's a hardware fault.

Hi,
If this is new router, most likely you have a hardware problem. Open a ticket with TAC and RMA the router
Here is more info regarding the error message:

Thanks Reza for prompt answer.
This is second hand router
Btw: your link does not work.
01-02-2012 02:30 PM
lets try it again:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps1835/products_tech_note09186a00800f67db.shtml
I just tried it. It should work now

If it is second hand then I assume you don't have a service contract to replace it. Since the router keep rebooting, try using the following link to see if you can break in to the router and load a different IOS.

I was trying to load different IOS several times but still Cisco was rebooting itself.
As i stated previously Cisco was originaly shipped with c3845-spservicesk9-mz.124-13c.bin, but i was trying c3845-ipbase-mz.124-18.bin, c3845-ipvoicek9-mz.124-17.bin, c3845-ipvoicek9-mz.124-22.T.bin as well
Of course that was only possible from Rommon mode (from few CF's cards or tftp), because watchdog prevents from giving me prompt.
Regarding "Troubleshooting Watchdog Timeouts" page it is probably software watchdog timeout (i pasted all the output).

If you could get to Rommon mode, you could also use Xmodem to try to load a new IOS.

I was trying to upload IOS to Cisco with confreg 0x3922 but at the end got error that the file cannot be opened.

I need to check another CF card tomorrow and give us an update here.

There is no need to use xmodem with modern routers.
You can do tftpdnld -r to load and boot the image without writing to flash.
However from previous posts I suspect you have faulty hardware.

Is there any way to find what exactly is out of order?
Dont' you think that cookie might be corrupted?

01-07-2012 02:04 PM
Paulo, unfortunately that Cisco is not under any support contract
Don't you think that cookie might be responsible for such Cisco behaviour?
