WCCP Error IOS version 12.2(46)SE

Hi

When the following was issued:

ip wccp 0 redirect-list wccp_acl group-list 10 password 0 ourpassword

Received this error:

MDT: %COMMON_FIB-3-FIBIDBINCONS2: An internal software error occurred. WCCP:0 linked to wrong idb Loopback0 (xyz node name)

When the following was issued 10 minutes later:

ip wccp 70 redirect-list wccp_acl group-list 10 password 0 ourpassword

No error msg (but now wccp was active)

WCCP appears to be working but we are ** having problems connecting ** with our websense (7.6) box via GRE.

Websense is connected to the 6509 which is connected this 3750 switch.

Any comments ?

From your explanation I presume that you are running WCCP on 3750.

If this is so you may want to try different SDM template.

By default 3750 will use a "Default" template which balances resources to all functions.

Other SDM templates are "Access, Dual-IPv4-and-IPv6, Routing & VLAN"

Switch3750(config)#sdm prefer {access | default | dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 {default | routing | vlan} | routing | vlan}

Specify the SDM template to be used on the switch. The keywords have these meanings:

  • access—Maximize system resources for ACLs.

  • default—Give balance to all functions.

  • dual-ipv4-and-ipv6—Select a template that supports both IPv4 and IPv6 routing.

  – default—Balance IPv4 and IPv6 Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionality.

  – routing—Provide maximum usage for IPv4 and IPv6 routing, including IPv4 policy-based routing.

  – vlan—Provide maximum usage for IPv4 and IPv6 VLANs.

  • routing—Maximize routing on the switch.

  • vlan—Maximize VLAN configuration on the switch with no routing supported in hardware.

Note: Do not select a routing template when the switch is running the LAN base feature set. Although visible in the command-line help, the LAN base feature set does not support routing.

Use the "no sdm prefer" command to reset the switch to the default desktop template. The default template balances the use of system resources.

HTH.

This issue is still on going. However Cisco TAC has recommended for a code upgrade. We have been struggling to get concrete answer from Cisco but the only response is to upgrade code.

Thanks for your help.
