Hello support community,

I'm trying to write a summary network address for the ip address in red below, but they need to be separate from the ones in black, is this a proper summary route for these networks in red? 10.20.0.0/10 ?

What about the subnet mask? Are all this /24?

Hi,

I think you need to split aggregation in to below three subnets.

10.16.0.0/12

10.32.0.0/11
10.64.0.0/10

10.20.0.0/10 is not a valid prefix.

Hi Akash,

correct, but

10.64.0.0/12

would be enough.

Bets regards,

Milan

Hi Milan,

Would 10.64.0.0/12 cover 10.20.0.0? I don't think so, i will cover 10.64.0.0 to 10.79.0.0 if i consider only 2nd octet.

Regards,

Akash

Hi,

sorry, I should have been clearer:

10.64.0.0/12 should be enough instead 10.64.0.0/10.

So

10.16.0.0/12

10.32.0.0/11
10.64.0.0/12

is the complete solution.

Best regards,

Milan

Hello

I have it as this:

10.0.0.0/14
10.20.0.0/16
10.30.0.0/15
10.32.0.0/11
10.64.0.0/12

I actually have a totally different result, the ip addresses in black 10.0.0.0, 10.2.0.0, and 10.3.0.0 will be separate from the red ip addresses in red. it would basically be all /12 so I can keep those summary separated. look ok?

IP block 10.0.0.0/12 - range 10.0.0.1 - 10.15.255.254
IP block 10.20.0.0/12 - range 10.16.0.1 - 10.31.255.254
IP block 10.32.0.0/12 - range 10.32.0.1 - 10.47.255.254
IP block 10.48.0.0/12 - range 10.48.0.1 - 10.63.255.254
IP block 10.70.0.0/12 - range 10.64.0.1 - 10.79.255.254

Thanks,
Delmiro

Hello

You original query was to summarise on the subnets you posted , hence the specific summarization.

If you mean to include the other subnets not shown then a more generic addressing would also be applicable.

I ended up using /12 which is a block of 16 subnets for my summary, it accomplished the goal. .

10.0.0.0/12
10.16.0.0/12
10.32.0.0/12
10.48.0.0/12
10.64.0.0/12

Thanks everyone for helping with this.
