What you will keep? ISR3845 vs 7206vxr

Hello everybody.

I have 2 cisco gear, isr3845 and 7206vxr with npe400.

Now I need to get rid one of them.

I will use just one of this as router for my small hotel

with 30mb FTTX network. And server some of ip phone

with CME.

My other gear in my rack is 4503-E switch with sup ii+ts

And 2x x4548-gb-rj45.

If you be me. What you will keep.

Thanks.

On a support level, consider that the 7206VXR had EoL announcement in 2007 and Last Day of HW support was in Feb 2013. However the ISR 3845 had an EoL announcement in 2010 and has Last Day HW Support Oct 31, 2016.

You can read the two announcements here:

However: You probably want to look at which will better fit your needs.  Maybe others can chime in!

Depending on your future requirements, you may want to upgrade to an ISR G2 3900 Series or consider the recently introduced 4451-X series with multicore processing and 1-22Gbps processing.

Cisco 4451-X Integrated Services Router - Cisco

Unless there is a specific legacy interface that only 7200 can support, the 3800 currently has the longer support life.

Thanks,

/Doug.
