Hi all,

During configuring switch, I have question about factory default.

Could you reply to me about the method?

1. The method to check connection trace.

AND

2. When I implement factory default on CISCO switch, there left connection trace?

If not, could you explain how to erase all information?

Regards,

SK.

Hi Soon

if you wipe a switch , you will still be left with contents in flash if that's what you mean by connection trace ?

You must go to flash and delete the files manually , especially the vlan.dat file which stays after erase startup reload , everything but the ios version can be removed if you want it completely wiped

dir flash:

delete flash:vlan.dat

Thank you so much Mark.

I understood your reply.

I'll mention more specifically below.

"connection trace"

Did you wnat to check out what people access my company's switch?

That trace is it(connection trace)

Can you understand..? ㅠ

Regards,

SK.

Ah ok yes  I get you ,absolutely all wiped after a factory reset all counters/traces etc cleared from the switch nothing remains in that sense its wiped completely , the only thing actually left is the flash contents that you have to manually remove , vtp information does remain as well but that's it

Wow perfect answer!

Thank you !!! Mark.
