1. STM1 Connectivity is commissioned in Head office which is connected to 20 Branch offices and at branch offices, there are G.703 Modem installed and somewhere V.35 Modem.
Why ISP provided V.35 and G.703 Modem at branch offices. Can we use direct Ethernet or Fibre cable end to connect with Branch Router. ?
What is Actual Use of these type of V.35/G.703 Modem , is it telco requirement ?
Why Modulation and Demodulation required between ISP and Customer End ?
2. What is actual use of Media convertor ,?????? (I know only one thing is that if ISP gives Fibre connectivity for internet with sfp last end then we can connect Media convertor with SFP cable to convert Fibre signal to Ethernet Signal for our Ethernet LAN Connectivity where no any provision of Fibre Port.)
According to your original post you have commissioned STM1 connectivity. STM1 is part of Synchronous Digital Hierarchy. SDH and SONET are both standards for digital transmission over fiber optic networks. So you have contracted with an ISP to use their digital over fiber optic network. Cisco makes a line card which allows you to connect your router to the ISP network without requiring protocol converters. And this is where the V.35 and G703comes into play. They allow you to connect to the ISP without requiring protocol translation.
I would assume that if you wanted to use protocol converters it could be possible to use an Ethernet interface on your router instead of the one that allows you a native connection to the ISP. However there are some aspects to consider, especially the face that STM1 operates at 155 mega bits.
