wifi indicator lights still blinking after disabling wifi

Hello,

I have been trying to find an answer to this question for two weeks now.  On my DPC3941T Gateway the wifi indicator lights are still blinking after I disabled the wifi.  I have hard-wired my network and no longer wish to use wifi.

Thank you for any help with this!

Hello @BritanyJohnson73970 ,

read the following guide for your device

http://media2.comcast.net/anon.comcastonline2/support/help/faqs/wireless_gateway/wg3/WG3_UserGuide_HOW5220.pdf

if all devices have a LAN RJ45 cable plugged in WIFI should not be used , but you may be using the WIFI for your smartphone for example so disabling the WIFI may be not needed.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello,

did you disable WiFi and SSID broadcasting for both the 2.4 and the 5 GHz settings (page 28 of the attached guide) ? Do your clients actually still see the SSID(s) ? What if you disable the WiFi adapters of your clients ?

Thank you!  I'm not sure if I've done that or not to be honest.  How do I disable the WiFi adapters of my clients?

Hello,

for Windows clients, you would go to 'Device Manager' --> 'Network Adapters', then right-click the wirless adapter and select 'Disable Device'...

Thank you - I have a Mac.  Do you have a recommendation for Mac?
