OMP stops advertising all routes

We recently tried to update a centralized data-policy applied to a VPN 1 only

The policy change worked, but there was a side affect where all OMP routes in VPN 500 stopped.

Our updated data-policy policy does not refer to VPN 500 so we were confused as to how this can impact OMP in an unrelated VPN.

we are running 20.3.2.

Any ideas how a data-policy for one VPN can affect OMP routing in an unrelated VPN?

Not sure how you defined your data-policy. It shouldn't affect.

Data-Policy is defined with vpn-list which maps to VPN[s]

Eg.:

1.

vSmart(config)# policy data-policy policy-name
vSmart(config-data-policy-policy-name)# vpn-list list-name

list-name is defined as:

vSmart(config)# policy lists
vSmart(config-lists)# vpn-list list-name

vSmart(config-lists-list-name)# vpn vpn-id

VPN-ID is VPN/VRF Service #.

HTH.

I found a vpn-membership policy was also added.  This is what affected the VPN 500 routing.
