Anycast routing is the default mechanism for Web Security roaming user data center selection, but sometimes it does not result in an optimal data center selection, especially if a user is near a country border.
SWG Roaming user data center selection is also controlled by our intelligent global load balancer.
Periodically we make adjustments to the load balancing rules to improve user experience when we observe anycast traffic is not selecting the most appropriate data center user experience. These changes to the load balancer were made recently:
- US users occasionally connecting to Central Canada are now redirected to US East
