ASDM Issue

Hi,

haven't been able to log into firewalls using ASDM. It was woking fine.I uninstalled ASDM on my machine, then went to the firewall via IE and installed ASDM from the firewall but, when I launch I still get the message "Unable to launch device manager from 10.x.x.x"

Any ideas?

Did you recently update Java to 1.7 update 51? If so, that is known to break ASDM.

Numerous threads here and elsewhere document that behavior.

should I uninstall Java and re-install 1.7 without the update?

If you accepted the update 51 then, yes - you should roll back to update 45.

You may have to refer to a 3rd party site like cnet for the older version since Oracle is aggressive at not making the archive versions avaialble anymore without setting up a login to their site.
