IP and MAC filtering

Hi ,

I would like to know IP and mac address filtering.

i have the one webserver.So i would like to restriction to access to web server.I would like do the whitelist to access webserver. i would like to do both IP and MAC filtering to access server.

for example, PC is (10.x.x.10 and mac xxx.xxx.xxx) .I would like to check if IP and MAC is match,it will allow to access webserver.

To do this authentication,what kind of solution should i need to do ?

MAC address you will get only for your Layer 2 domain, so restricting with IP is a good idea,

do you mean we use control dhcp with macaddress and restricting the IP ?

yes make DHCP Reservation for that MAC Address to allocate the IP address, and make ACL for IP to restrict - make sense?
