Cisco is pleased to announce the Limited Deployment* (LD) release of AsyncOS 9.5.0 for Cisco Email Security Appliances and AsyncOS 9.5.0 for Cisco Content Security Management Appliances. These releases offer new feature, platform, and interface support.  These releases apply to all supported hardware models.**  

In order to request provisioning for your appliance(s), you will need to open a support case and provide complete serial number for hardware (on CLI, run version)and/or VLN for virtual (on CLI, run showlicense).

 

Release paths for ESA 9.5, the qualified upgrade paths are:

phoebe-8-5-6-106 -> phoebe-9-5-0-201

phoebe-9-1-0-032 -> phoebe-9-5-0-201

phoebe-9-5-0-144 -> phoebe-9-5-0-201

phoebe-9-5-0-196 -> phoebe-9-5-0-201

 

Release paths for SMA 9.5, the qualified upgrade paths are:

zeus-8-3-6-039 -> zeus-9-5-0-053

zeus-9-1-0-031 -> zeus-9-5-0-053

zeus-9-1-1-005 -> zeus-9-5-0-053

zeus-9-5-0-034 -> zeus-9-5-0-053

 

New Features:

1) Graymail Detection and Safe Unsubscribing:

Provide a secure and easy mechanism for end users to unsubscribe from unwanted graymail using a cloud-based Unsubscribe service

Identify graymail using the integrated graymail engine and apply appropriate policy controls.

 

2) Web Interaction Tracking:

The web interaction tracking feature provides information about the end users who clicked on URLs rewritten by policy or Outbreak Filtering, and the action associated with each user click.

 

3) System health monitoring enhancements:

a) Configurable threshold on Cisco Email Security Appliances for system health parameters. Depending on your organization's requirements, you can configure the threshold for various health parameters of your appliance such as overall CPU usage, number of messages in the work queue, and so on. You can also configure the appliance to send alerts when the specified threshold values are crossed.

b) The following reports on the System Capacity page now show the configured threshold levels for system health parameters:

               1). Workqueue

               2). Overall CPU Usage

               3). Memory Page Swapping

c) A new graph shows how frequently the appliance has entered resource conservation mode.

 

4) Support for On-Premises File Analysis

If you have deployed a Cisco AMP Threat Grid appliance on your network, you can analyze message attachments for malware without sending them to the cloud.

 

5) TLS v1.2 support

* Limited Deployment (LD)

A Cisco software release that is only applicable to a small subset of users.  This could be for supportability and or compatibility reasons, based on the version of software released, or platform the software supports.

 

**Supported Hardware Models:

x70 models (C170, C370, C670, and X1070, M170, M370, M670, and M1070)

x80 models (C380, C680, M380, and M680)

When I click on "upgrade options" on my Cisco C170 Email Security Appliance (9.1.0-032 version ), I'm not proposed to upgrade towards 9.5.0 version.

I receive a "No available upgrades" message.

Its Limited Deployment (LD), so you won't get it unless you ask TAC for it...
