This problem affects the ASA 5505 model only. If a SSC IPS module (ASA-SSC-AIP-5) is installed into the Security Services Card slot of the ASA 5505, the firewall boot time might be increased by 10-15 minutes, verses the time it would take the firewall to boot without the module installed.
The ASA-SSC-AIP-5 card must be plugged into the Security Services Card slot of the ASA 5505 and the ASA must be running on code 8.2 (3).
This problem is not present in version 8.2 (2)
Workaround: Downgrade to 8.2 (2)
