Core issue
The Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Sensor and Management Platform signatures need to be updated separately. Management software is not able to learn signatures from the Sensor, so it must be updated.
Resolution
The signatures updates from the IDS Sensor and the Managment software can be downloaded from Cisco Downloads. The readme file combined with each software udpate has the specific instructions on updating the signatures. Refer to Updating signatues section of Using Management Center for IPS Sensors 2.1 for detailed instruction on updating sinatures.
Ensure that you are logged in and have the appropriate crypto license.
