Migrate from C170 to C190

I need to migrate from C170 to C190 and have already match to the same Firmware Version. I have a question. Is there any method that can export and import the configuration file instead of form cluster ?

If the the version is correct on both, take backup config (without masking)

configure the new device with Management config and restore the config from backup. (make sure device offline)

Export and Import Settings from Old Ironport C170 to New Ironport C190

• Login the GUI
• Go to System Administration  > Configuration File (Remember to uncheck the “Mask Passwords” option
• Open both configuration file in a text editor
• Find the following 2 entries in both conf files, and copy the values from the destination appliances’s conf file to the source conf file:
• <db_environment_actual_size>
• <tracking_global_max_db_size>
• If the appliances have a different number of Ethernet Interfaces, you will need to completely remove the following sections from the source conf file:
• <ethernet_settings> … </ethernet_settings>
• <ports> … </ports>
• Save a copy of the modified source conf file
• Import the modified source conf file on the destination appliance
• Commit the changes

Am I correct to follow this ?

Hello Team,

I have to migrate C170 to C195 but both devices Version do not match.

The C170 has AsynOS version 11.0.1-027 and the device is in production environment.

The C195 has no Config and the AsynOS version 13.0.0-392 this is the lowest version.

How do I match both devices to same version ?

There are many AsynOS version on Cisco software download website.

Which version should I choose:  Cisco Email Security Virtual Appliance C000V, Cisco Email Security Virtual Appliance C300V ?

What is the C000v and C300V stand for ?

How do I use CLI upload the AsynOS to the ironport ?

13.X  should able to take 11.X  config,

Since C195 is new device no config on it, configured basic config to get GUI access.

get C170 config and import and see there is no error while importing ( as per config concern)

Do I need to take the C195 offline before import the C170 config ?
Both C170 and C195 are on the same ip subnet.

As long as your other interface not connected, only Management connected you are good, make sure you do not override Management IP while importing config.
