Core issue
During a migration from any other firewall to the Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), the unit hangs and does not respond to any connection. Traffic does not pass through the device after it is replaced.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, perform these steps:
- Check the routing table to confirm that the default route has been added to the configuration.
- Configure the service policies according to the applications used in the network. Issue this command:
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default
- Reboot the Internet Service Provider (ISP) router, so it can learn the MAC address of the ASA.
