Core issue
This issue is due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCsf28591.
On the command line interface (CLI) of the Content Security and Control Security Services Module (CSC SSM), or through e-mail notification, this message appears:
[InterScan for CSC SSM Notification] Compact Flash storage is nearly out of
space
Compact Flash storage is nearly out of space on InterScan for CSC SSM. Please
contact Customer Support for assistance.
This message warns that the free space on the CSC flash is near the threshold of the system monitor. When this issue occurs, the flash space gradually fills due to the size increase of the CSC patterns. The CSC does have a mechanism in order to recover the free space if the flash space really becomes full, but it fails to activate. As a result, unless there is a size decrease in the CSC patterns, these messages can occasionally appear, either through e-mail notification, in the command line, or in the system logs.
This issue is first found in these CSC versions:
Note: This is a cosmetic bug. During this issue, the system still scans and updates normally.
Resolution
For a workaround:
Download and upgrade the software version to 6.1.1569.0 at Cisco Downloads.
Refer to Cisco Content and Control SSM Administrator Guide, Version 6.1.1567.0 for more information.
