With the newest Java SE 6 update 13 (& 12 as well), PDM from the PIX 515E (PIX version 6.3(5), PDM version 3.0(4)) can't be launched (ie the PDM window can't display), and this whether I use Firefox 3.0.7 or IE 7.0.5730.13.
I'm very very certain it's a problem of Java because after I install JRE 1.3.1_08, PDM succeeds to appear. Anyone knows what to do?
OK, I'm sure somebody would jump in and say "It's a problem in Java, not that of Cisco". Then in Java's forum, someone would say "Hey, that's a problem in Cisco, not Java's". And we, as final users, would really get lost ....

If Browser cannot access PDM then check that you are using âhttpsâ in your connection to âhttps://pix_inside_interface_ip_addressâ and not âhttp.â The connection cannot be made using âhttp,â it must be âhttps.â

Hi,
It is best to work with the least version of Java or as recommended for the version of PDM. Else we can ran into issue as u face. The Newer the version, more problems we face ( From my experience). Each software like ASDM for ASA, CSM etc needs a specific version to work!!!

Yes, of course. Everybody knows this. But what about Cisco's engineers do a better work and follow the standard in the first place?
I've got some applet written for 1.3 and is still working.
Or are we supposed to have a computer only contains THE JRE version it needs to display Cisco PDM? This is getting ridiculous as we will need a lot of computers.

Yes, of course I'm using HTTPS.
It seems like you think I'm stupid...
If I use HTTP, how on earth could I get older versions of JRE to work? Think of this.
