2 VSM HA Pairs connected to the same Vcenter

We are in the process of a ESXi refresh and would like to bring up the new hosts on a new 1000V HA pair.  This would allow the new hosts to be installed from scratch with a minimum of 5.5 instead of having to step them from 5.1 to 5.5.  Is it possible for one Vcenter to have multiple distributed switches?

Thanks,

Joe

Yes, this is possible. Currently, one vCenter can support up to 64 VSMs:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus1000/sw/5_x/release_notes/b_Cisco_NIKV_VMware_521SV314_ReleaseNotes.html#reference_C18CFE4D955E497DB99C360B95FABA8A

However, a single host can only have 1 VEM and therefore can only belong to 1 N1Kv.

Thanks for the reply, I assume there is nothing that will need to be done differently, simply create the new VSM, connect it Vcenter and then they will be able to add the new hosts to this VSM.

Correct?

Yes, just remember to use different domain ids.
