I have Cisco UCS C200 M2 with SAS 15K 450GB . When I put a bootable DVD the Server keeps giving me the following error

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable

PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel Boot Agent

Reboot and select proper boot device

or insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

I don't have an experience in the servers so i need your help .

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

This is probably because you do not have the boot policy set correct.

In order to boot from the CD/DVD - make sure CD is the first in the boot order.

The following link will help you change the boot policy:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/sw/gui/config/guide/1.0_1x/Cisco_UCS_C-Series_Servers_Integrated_Management_Controller_Configuration_Guide_1.0_1x_chapter3.html#task_99CD607A55D6405BBCD4BB72AC93B5E2

./Abhinav

I did that but the Server now don't see the SAS HardDrive . When I installed Windows , It couldn't see the HardDrive to install the files

What RAID controller are you using? You probably need to install the controller driver during the install for it to be seen by the installer and then in turn the disk.

Also make sure you have the disk configured in a RIAD group by going into the adapter option ROM.

./Abhinav

I have  Intel ICH10R Controller

Hello,

As you may see here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C200M1/install/RAID.html   <-

Table C-1     Cisco UCS C200 LFF RAID Options (Up to Four 3.5-Inch Internal Drives)

Intel ICH10R ONLY supports SATA drives, which probably the reason why you do not see your SAS drives, so you will need to either change the disks or the RAID controller

Hope that helps,

-Kenny
